Before the World Cup, Netherlands coach Ryan Cook said that their dream is as big as the semi-finals. Netherlands captain Scott Edwards, who produced one of the World Cup's biggest upsets in defeating South Africa, said they don't want to stop there.
It goes without saying that the Dutch had chances in the first two matches. But they lost them, naturally the result of the match did not leave an impression. However, batting in Dharamsala, they came back from the edge of the abyss and got a historic victory. After 12 years, the team coming to the World Cup lost for the first time to a full member of the ICC.
After such a victory, the captain Edwards, who literally led the Netherlands in batting, said his big dream once again, 'We are very proud. I have come to the World Cup with many expectations. I was playing very well, there are some good players. But we know that the other 9 teams are also very good. Thrilled to get the first win, hopefully more wins to come.'

Scott Edwards built the foundation of the Netherlands' victory with a great innings:AFP

In the last two matches, the middle order batting has troubled the Netherlands. They were all out for 205 from 120 against Pakistan. The Netherlands lost their way in the middle overs against South Africa as well. 6 wickets were lost for 112 runs.
Edwards, who was dropped at number seven, then played an unbeaten innings of 78 off 69 balls as the Netherlands reached 245 in 43 overs in a rain-hit match despite losing the seventh wicket for 140 runs. That is what has put South Africa under pressure. Edwards said about not giving up after the match, 'We had a big problem in the last few matches Several middle-order batsmen were out before the last half of the innings. So our goal was to take the game to the end. In the first two matches we were in a good position, lost our way at times. There have been some good pairings this time in the end.
Edwards' change of bowler today was also excellent. It is understood that they came with a specific plan against South Africa's explosive batting line-up. At the end of the match, Edwards said that he was happy to implement the plan, "All the teams do this now, we have also researched them." Played with them before, that worked too. Our matchups sometimes work, sometimes they don't. It feels good to have come to work today.
